Update on National PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident
PowerSchool, a widely used provider of education administration software, recently confirmed that it experienced a cybersecurity incident in late December. While the company has since restored the security of its internal systems, unauthorized access to data affecting students and educators across numerous school districts nationwide did occur. Importantly, this breach was confined to PowerSchool’s internal systems and did not compromise the security of local school division networks, including those of Prince Edward County Public Schools.
